There can be some crossover between the two professions with Physio’s capable of prescribing exercise programs also. However, they tend to do this more for rehabilitation purposes. Ultimately it is whomever the referring practitioner feels is the most suitable for the patient they are consulting with.
Your nutrition/dietitian appointment
Our nutrition expert provides personalised treatment for each individual client. No two clients are the same and therefore no two appointments are the same. Current diet and health status will be assessed, education will be dispensed, and the most appropriate dietary treatment will be prescribed based on long term healthy lifestyle changes. We provide nutritional motivational techniques to assist and guide clients through realistic lifestyle changes to transform eating habits and behaviours to improve overall health for the long term.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY APPOINTMENT?
EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY SERVICE BREAKDOWN
Apt 1: Initial Consultation (45 mins) • History screening and information gathering • Identifying barriers to change • Motivational coaching and accountability • Basic strength/fitness tests Apt 2: Follow Up Consultation (30 mins) • Taken through an exercise program • Goal setting • Further education on condition if required After the initial consult our expert will go away and create an individualised exercise program. If a patient is only referred for one appointment through the care plan, then the second apt will be a private charge to the patient of $89, of which they can claim through private health if they have it. |
DIETITIAN SERVICE BREAKDOWN
Apt 1: Initial Consultation (45 mins) • History screening and information gathering • Identifying barriers to change • Diet history recall • DT will make suggestions to change through diet • Some education if time and one or two goals set along with motivational counselling strategies • Measurements Apt 2: Follow Up Consultation (30 mins) • Review progress since last apt (usually 3-4 weeks) • Goal setting and adjustment of strategies to continue progressions • Further education on condition if required • Remeasure |
Medicare Chronic Disease Care plan appointments DO NOT get a meal plan. A meal plan takes about 4 hours to create. This is an additional private charge. We offer tailored expert programs that provide a high level of accountability; which we can discuss in person if this is a more suitable solution 0432 292 413.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Yes, appointments that are rescheduled/cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice or are not attended will incur a $30 cancellation fee. Our health experts can only see a limited number of clients per day, and when an appointment that is scheduled for you is missed, that time cannot be used to treat another patient who really wishes to see our professionals. is our credit card card over the phone payment system secure?
Yes, we use a secure practice management system called Halaxy Software. This system allows us to not only process visa debit and credit card payments but also Medicare online payments. Please note there is a $1.50 surcharge for card payments via Halaxy. Please see their information on card security below:

Do I need to be a member of a gym/where will I do my training?
It is not necessary for you to have a gym membership as our practitioners can tailor the exercise program to be suitable to do at home. Most people prefer an exercise program that they can do at home, we do offer one on one personal training at our locations, however, that does come at a slightly higher price. The training sessions are especially effective if you need motivation and accountability.
What if I don’t remember all the exercises?
The Exercise Physiologist will create you a program in a called Physi app. The app is great for video demonstrations and if you forget your exercises you can use the app to refresh your memory. If you don’t like using an app, the program allows us to print off your exercises or we can email it to you.
What should I wear to my appointment;
will I be doing a lot of exercise?
The first appointment does not include a lot of exercise. The Exercise Physiologist will use this time to do a history, screening and assessment session. The practitioner may do some measurements, along with some basic strength and fitness tests to track your progression. Just wear comfortable clothing that you feel okay moving around in.
The second appointment the ex-phys will take you through the program they have created an make any changes if they need to. As well as address any barriers as to why they may not have been able to make any change since the first appointment.
