"Exercise to stimulate, not to annihilate.  The world wasn't formed in a day, and neither were we.  Set small goals and build upon them."

WHAT TO EXPECT IN AN INITIAL CONSULTATION

The first 45 minute appointment with one of our Exercise Specialists will see you go through a screening and assessment.  Usually your GP has referred you for a specific reason.  We like to be thorough and make sure there isn't anything else that you personally would like to address too.  We not only find out about your health history, we also like to explore issues that may be preventing you from achieving success.  We will offer you guidance and support throughout your journey.  We also like to measure you (only if you are happy to do so) and perform some baseline strength tests to we can track your progress as you go.  We do not often prescribe you with any exercise programs at this point.  We prefer to go away and have a good think about what will work for you personally.  This means that you will be shown through your program in your second appointment.  This ensures we maintain a higher standard of service delivery as your program has not been created in a rush.

YOUR FOLLOW UP CONSULTATION

We review any small goals that may have been set for you over the past week.  We then physically take you through your newly created exercise program.  We also provide you with access to a handy mobile app that has video demonstration in case you forget something after the consult.  Goals are set and away you go!  We allow you to communicate with our Exercise Physiologists post consultation by providing you with their email address.  If you have any questions you can contact our team!  exercisephysiologist@betterhnf.org
