RENEE ROBERTSON, Nutritionist (she/her) (Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Distinction), QUT, 2018) Instagram: @lots.on.my.plate Areas of interest: -Eating disorders and disordered eating -Non diet/Health at Every Size approach -Nutritional management of complex mental health conditions -Vegan/Vegetarian nutrition -Sports nutrition (esp. endurance events) Renee is a compassionate nutritionist who offers specialist insight into ways individuals can manage their relationship with food and mental health. Previous clients have expressed gratitude after seeking her assistance with emotional eating. They appreciate her non-pathologising approach to this complex issue which acknowledges the validity of food as a source of comfort, whilst a person may be working towards finding other strategies that have equal effect. She aims to work within her scope of practice as a nutritionist to address physiological, psychological, and neurological triggers for disordered eating behaviours to achieve long term stability. Renee affirms all identities and recognises the role that cultural background, socioeconomic status, and gender identity play in her client's mental health. While she prefers to work within the Health at Every Size framework, which seeks to promote health seeking behaviours independent of a client's current weight, she is an advocate for informed consent with all approaches to nutrition management. As a keen ultra-marathon runner, Renee is an advocate for conscious movement and encourages her clients to exercise as a celebration of their body's capabilities, not as a punishment for its appearance. |
